Employer's personal

clause 2.3 states that the employer is obliged to ensure that the employers personal and employer contractor on site:
  • cooperate with contractor effort in providing appropriate opportunities for employer personal, other contractor employed by the employer and personal of any legal constituted public authorities in carrying out their works. contractor shall be entitled to a variation if any instruction causes the contractor to bear unforeseeable cost. services provided for this persons may include using of contractor equipment or temporary works or access arrangement. 
  • take actions to comply with all applicable safety regulations, take care for the safety of all personnel on site and take the necessary measure to keep the site clear from any obstruction to prevent endangering of these personnel.
  • take actions to ensure reasonable steps taken to protect the environment and limit damage, the nuisance of people property resulted from pollution and noise. also, the employer shall ensure emissions, surface discharge and effluent from contractor activities with the limit of specifications and laws.

The main function of diaphragms is to provide a stiffening effect to deck slab in case bridge webs are not situated directly on top of bearings. The purpose of the shear key is to improve the bonding between concrete surfaces. The shear key is usually made at the construction joint location to enhance the adhesion between the old and new casted concrete. Construction joint is considered a weak point because the concrete is not casted at one time, in large structures where the concrete can not be casted for some members at one time, such as a slab. We usually divide the slab and cast it at many stages. The large quantities of concrete will make it impossible to cast the slab at one time. Therefore, the casting will be done in several stages. The location of the construction joint should be selected carefully. A pressure reducing valve (PRV) , also known as a pressure breaking valve , is used to reduce and regulate fluid pressure to a specific, safe value in order to protect downstream equipment and piping systems. These valves are commonly used in water supply and hydraulic systems , where the inlet pressure may be higher than the pressure rating of the downstream components. In such cases, the pressure reducing valve ensures that the downstream pressure remains within the allowable range of the equipment and pipes, preventing possible damage or system failure. The deflection of forms will cause concrete to expand at this location, and this known as concrete Bulging. Concrete Bulging will spoil the appearance of a concrete member. Therefore we should always ensure that the forms are appropriately installed, and it is sufficiently supported to resist the concrete during placing and compacting. According to ACI, the area of longitudinal reinforcement for a column shall not be less than 0.01·Ag and shall not exceed 0.08·Ag (Ag = gross sectional area of the column). The minimum reinforcement requirement ensures the column has sufficient reinforcement to resist bending that may arise from misalignment during construction or other causes, and to control shrinkage and creep under sustained load. The maximum reinforcement limit of 8% is intended to prevent overly brittle behavior and sudden failure without warning. A very large amount of reinforcement also causes congestion, making proper placement of bars, ties, and concrete consolidation impractical. The 8% limitation applies to the total longitudinal area at a section — the designer must therefore consider column length, bar lengths, splice locations, and lap splice practices when checking the maximum reinforcement criterion.
